VAIKOM KAITHOLAS is a vibrant youth folk band from Kerala, started in 2018. We are a Kerala Government–registered band, formed by a group of passionate youngsters and guided by our mentors Stalin and Jayan. We bring the spirit of folk music alive through powerful performances — blending heart, culture, and rhythm, under our unique theme,AAMALAVETTU.

To the audience, this name may sound striking at first glance — but to us, it’s far more than just a name. It is an idea. It is a stance. It is resistance. In this era where modernity influences every aspect of society, nature has become one of its greatest victims. As humans cut down mountains, fill paddy fields, and erect towering structures with pride… As cities expand by felling forests and filling rivers… What disappears silently is not just land — it is entire ecosystems. What we forget in this pursuit of progress is that by destroying nature, we are destroying ourselves. Amaalavettu is our stand — a resistance on behalf of nature. We are part of this resistance. And so... To strike against the exploitation of nature... To strike against the injustices and blind beliefs in our society... To strike against the spread of addiction and caste discrimination... To strike against the apathy in our politics... We raise our voices — with the songs that carry the scent of our soil — to echo the resistance of this land. Through this resistance, we unite in song — to become the voice of nature, And to bring new light to future generations. We are VAIKOM KAITHOLAS — bound by music, powered by purpose.

2018 ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച, കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഊർജ്ജസ്വലമായ ഒരു യുവ നാടൻ പാട്ട്, നാടൻ കലാ സംഘമാണ് വൈക്കം കൈതോലാസ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കളായ സ്റ്റാലിനും കെ. എം.ജയനും വി. എന്നിവർ നയിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു കൂട്ടം യുവാക്കൾ ചേർന്ന് രൂപീകരിച്ച, കേരള സർക്കാരിന് കീഴിൽ രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്ത ഒരു കലാ സംഘമാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ. "ആമലവെട്ട്" എന്ന ഞങ്ങളുടെ അതുല്യമായ ആശയത്തിന് കീഴിൽ, മൺമറഞ്ഞ സംസ്കൃതി, സംസ്കാരം, താളം, എന്നിവ സംയോജിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ശക്തമായ പ്രകടനങ്ങളിലൂടെ ഞങ്ങൾ നാടൻ പാട്ട്, നാടൻ കലാ പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ സജീവമാക്കുന്നു

ആമലവെട്ട്

പ്രേക്ഷകർക്കൊക്കെയും ഒറ്റനോട്ടത്തിൽ ആശ്ചര്യം തോന്നുന്ന ഈ പേര് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വെറുമൊരു പേര് മാത്രമല്ല ഒരു ആശയമാണ്.. നിലപാടാണ്... പ്രതിരോധമാണ് ആധുനികത ഈ സമൂഹത്തെ സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്ന കാലഘട്ടം തൊട്ടേ മനുഷ്യന്റെ കൊടും ചൂഷണങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇരയാക്കപ്പെട്ടവളാണ് നമ്മുടെ പ്രകൃതി. ഒരു മല വെട്ടി പാടം നികത്തി.. മനുഷ്യൻ അമ്പരച്ചുമ്പികളായ കെട്ടിടങ്ങൾ പൊക്കി കെട്ടുമ്പോൾ... കാട് വെട്ടിയു പുഴ നികത്തിയും.. ഓരോ ഇടങ്ങളും നഗരവൽക്കരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇവിടെ ഇല്ലാതാവുന്നത് ഓരോ ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥയാണ്.. മനുഷ്യൻ മറന്നുപോകുന്നത് നമ്മുടെ പ്രകൃതിയെ ആണ് നമ്മളെ തന്നെയാണ്... "ആമലവെട്ട്" ഒരു ചെറുത്തുനിൽപ്പാണ്... പ്രകൃതിയുടെ ചെറുത്തുനിൽപ്പ്.. ഞങ്ങൾ ഈ ചെറുത്തുനിൽപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ് അതിനാൽ ഈ പ്രകൃതിക്ക് നേരെയുള്ള ചൂഷണങ്ങളുടെ ആമലവെട്ടുവാൻ..... ഈ നാട്ടിലെ അനീതികളുടെയും അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങളുടെയും ആമലവെട്ടുവാൻ .... ഈ നാട്ടിലെ ലഹരി വിത്തുകളുടെയും.. ജാതി വിവേചനങ്ങളുടെയും ആമലവെട്ടുവാൻ.... ഈ നാട്ടിലെ അരാഷ്ട്രീയതയുടെ ആമലവെട്ടുവാൻ... ഈ മണ്ണിന്റെ മണമുള്ള പാട്ടുകൾ കൊണ്ട് ഈ മണ്ണിന്റെ പ്രതിരോധം.. ഈ പ്രതിരോധത്തിന് ശബ്ദം ആകുവാൻ പാട്ടുകൊണ്ടൊരു ചൂട്ടുകെട്ടി നമ്മുടെ തലമുറകളിലേക്ക് പുതു വെളിച്ചം വീശുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ വൈക്കം കൈതോലാസും
